Scandinavian kids toys – a friend for everyone

When I was pregnant and strolling around stores looking at things for the baby, LuckyBoySunday immediately caught my eye. It is a brand that makes edgy and scandinavian kids toys. I have always loved things that were a bit different and I liked the idea that they create a friend for everyone and it is not the classic perfect teddy that everyone has.

All the teddies are hand made in 100% baby alpaca making them so soft to cuddle. I really think it is important to teach our kids to see the beauty in everything.

They all have funny names. I have Blib blob, Jealous Baby, Polly and Chipper.

Not just a toy

All LuckyBoySunday’s knitted designs are manufactured in bolivia, where alpaca have been bred for their precious wool for centuries. All items are knitted in cooperatives working under the fair trade principle by very talented women and men, using only the highest grade wool, which is as valuable and as soft as cashmere. So this is a Teddie that will last a lifetime and is made from natural materials, which is very important to me.

Monochrome wooden animals

These cute little wooden animals are from the Japanese brand T-Lab. These adorable wooden animals have been in Japan for over 10 years. Polepole (poh-leh poh-leh) meaning slowly, slowly in Swahili describes how these little guys are created. Each animal is hand carved from a soft light wood and then hand-painted with the sweetest expressions and patterns. Due to their handcrafted nature, each polepole animal is slightly different. They are made from the fast-growing white Albizia wood and there is a whole menagerie of monochrome animals to collect.
