CALIDA x Stedsans in the woods
Two weeks ago I jumped on a train and landed in the middle of the woods in Sweden. The first thing I noticed was the complete silence and the immediately calmness that came with it. I have a very green view from my apartment overlooking a natural green park in Copenhagen, but standing in the woods is a whole other experience. Nowadays, a sustainable lifestyle and conscious living should be part of our daily lives. This also affects what we wear. I was kindly invited by CALIDA to a slow down workshop that took place at Stedsans in the woods. Innovative materials and sustainable and fair production have always been part of CALIDA’s DNA. It isn’t a trend, but a must right from the very begining.
A biodegradable t-shirt
This year they have designed a 100 % biodegradable. Yes thats right! When you are done using it, which will be a long time because the quality is really good, you can put it on your compost heap. After 6 to 12 months, depending on the weather and time of year, the shirt will have completely decomposed. If we just started producing all basics in 100 % biodegradable fabric, the world would be a much better place.
This is the floating sauna. In the afternoon I took a dip in the lake and spend 15 minutes of Colette silence in the sauna. If every day ended like that, I would be amazing.
I stayed in cabin nr. 10 where there was no electricity and no heat. The bedding was of course from the danish sustainable brand Aiayu and you could light a candle if it got too dark.
The Stedsans restaurant is by the farm to table concept. All of the ingrediens use is completely fresh and all fruit and vegetables are from they own land. I woke up early so I went down to the lake to see the sun ride before our outside yoga session at 8 am. I have never done yoga outside before, but I hope it is not the last.
