A new and personal Christmas tradition

Sunday was the day we picked up our Christmas tree. We go to the same place every year, the whole family. It is a big Christmas market up north, at a beautiful farm. There is delicious specialties from the butcher, sweet treats from the bakery, animals, Christmas decorations and lots of Christmas trees. I have one rule when it comes to picking the right tree. It has to be taller than myself. I prefer tall and slender then small and chubby.

The best part of getting the tree, is the decoration of it. We bring all the boxes up from the basements and put them out on the dining table. It is like unpacking years and years of Christmas memories. I add at least one ornament each year, to the collection. I have also started a little new tradition after becoming a mom. Each year I buy one ornament for Carla. The idea is, that the day she is an adult and leaves home, she will have a nice selection of ornaments herself. This year I chose the 2018 gold-plated Christmas Bell from Georg Jensen. The Pinecone collection is also one of my favorites.
