50 Years of IVAR

1968 was the year when IVAR entered the IKEA department store as an anonymous storage shelf, but it is much more than anonymous. IVAR has become a instagram darling the last few years, where talented interior influencers has made it their own by giving it a bright red colour like here. A dark brown colour like here. Or making it one with the wall like here. It has been a IKEA favourite of mine for a long time and I am not sure how I would take mine, colored or neutral? I think both has its charm. This editorial by Pella Hedeby for IKEA Livet Hemma, is a celebration of the first 50 years of IVAR and many more to come.

 

The small storage shelves gets a descrete look in black. DIY coated with BEHANDLA, IVAR shelf  and IVAR box in gray. TIME WATER vase, and YPPERLIG heat jam holder.

 

IVAR cabinet with doors. Nicely industrial and functional. The fine metal cupboards offer storage to all rooms and provide a nice contrast to the other wooden surfaces.

 

IVAR chair. Give the chair a modern expression with a layer of laser. Why not mix several shades around the table and combine with the wooden surfaces?
